Hello fellow Pi Network enthusiasts! Today, we’ll be discussing the roadmap for Pi Network and what to expect as we move towards the Mainnet launch. With over 30 million engaged Pioneers worldwide, Pi Network is a cryptocurrency and smart contracts platform designed for everyday people to secure and operate.
The development roadmap for Pi Network consists of three phases: Design, Distribution, Trust Graph Bootstrap; Testnet; and Mainnet. In December 2021, the Mainnet of the Pi blockchain went live. As we approach the Mainnet launch, let’s take a closer look at some key aspects of the roadmap:
No Connectivity with Other Blockchains or Crypto Exchanges: One notable aspect of the roadmap is the decision not to allow connectivity between Pi Network and other blockchains or cryptocurrency exchanges. This measure is in place to ensure a focus on real-world utility and avoid speculative trading.
Permitted Transactions: The following types of transactions will be allowed on the Pi Network:
- Exchange of Pi for goods and services through Pi Apps
- Transfer of Pi between Pioneers for goods and services
These transactions emphasize the use of Pi as a currency for everyday transactions and promote a healthy ecosystem.
Prohibited Transactions: The following types of transactions will not be allowed on the Pi Network:
- Exchange of Pi for fiat currency
- Exchange of Pi for other cryptocurrencies
- Transfer for Pi for a future promise of fiat or other cryptocurrencies
By prohibiting these transactions, the Pi Network aims to prevent speculative trading and maintain a stable ecosystem.
For more detailed information on the Pi Network roadmap, you can refer to the December 2021 Whitepaper chapters “Token Model and Mining” and “Roadmap.” These chapters were released as an addendum to the original 2019 Whitepaper and provide updated information on Mainnet.
