Hello, Pi Network Enthusiasts! In today’s post, we are excited to share the results of the 2023 Q1 Pi Hackathon and celebrate the incredible contributions made by Pioneers and developers to the Pi ecosystem.
The Hackathon, which lasted nearly two months, saw over 6,700 participants from around the world—including Pi app developers and non-developers—building apps, while more than 30,000 Pioneers were involved in reviewing, rating projects, and voting on the types of apps they wanted to see built. By the end of the Hackathon, over 360 submissions were accepted, with hundreds more arriving after the deadline, bringing the total to nearly 600 project submissions.
Selecting the Hackathon winners was a challenging but rewarding task. Projects were judged based on user experience, Pi integration, technical aptitude, usefulness (for Pioneers and the ecosystem), and data privacy. Today, the Pi Network is proud to announce the nine Hackathon projects taking home prizes, which include the overall winner, three runner-up winners, four theme category winners, and one winner of the VC judging round. The winners represent diverse countries across four different continents.
These winning projects showcase the dedication, talent, and creativity of the Pi Network community in creating diverse and inspiring Pi apps that bring various utilities to all Pioneers. The Hackathon’s success demonstrates the power of collaboration and the immense potential of the Pi ecosystem.
